Thirty-two bit computer systems are appearing as office computers, small-business computers and desk-top computers in Japan. They offer large memory capacity, high processing speed, low price and multi-terminal connections. These systems operate as stand-alone systems, application systems for computer graphics and CAD systems and serve as central devices in office automation networks. The programming languages C, FORTRAN, COBOL, BASIC and PASCAL are used by 32-bit systems.
