A test of the latest double-duty products for babies and toddlers reveals that many offer convenience and longevity that far outweigh savings from buying cheaper versions. Some of these multipurpose products are a 3-in-1 cradle swing from Fisher-Price, Evenflo's Phases playtop high chair and Graco's bassinet pack 'n play.

Time for baby push-ups

Placing 4-month old babies on their stomach helps promote the development of motor skills in growing babies, such as pushing up and crawling. But this aspect of development must be balanced with the need to prevent sudden infant death syndrome, such that babies must be placed on their backs most of the time.
