Carlton Winemakers Studio that allows new Oregon wineries share state-of-art winemaking equipment, a chemistry lab, high-tech office space and a tasting room that's open to the public-fixtures and facilities that few start-up's can afford is presented. The construction of the w inery built by Hamcher and Ned Lumpkin that allows vintners make their wines any way they want to, giving them complete control over when and how they sort, destem and crush their grapes and ferment, cellar and bottle their wines is presented.

However, a new generation of winemakers like Brian Loring, Kris Curran, Mat Garretson, Marc Cuneo, Greg Brewer, Vanessa Wong, Agustin Huneeus Jr., Philippe Melka are expected to have a bright future as they are guided by passion, professional training, commitment to terroir, willingness to take risks on unproven sites and grape varieties.
