Decisive action to save a vintage

Article Abstract:

1998 was a difficult year for wine growers in California. Floods, heavy rain, and unseasonable temperatures made may vintners fear for the crops. However, many vintners thinned their crops and the result is a smaller vintage that is of good quality. Proper grape selection even in high or low-yield seasons produces the best wine.
