A high performance deodorant which uses various fruit and vegetable extracts such as konjak, apples, grape, radish, and coconut has been developed by Time KK. This product eliminates the unpleasant odours which result from chemical reactions, and is effective against methyl mercaptans, amines, and ammonia, amongst other things. There is a spray variety which can be used in food preparation areas, and a product named Himawari Not Stink for retail sale. The company says that this deodorant has many applications in the food industry, including food production, distribution, storage, and in the food service industry.

Heinz Japan has introduced two Ore Ida brand potato products. The first, crispy mini-size Chiccha-imo, is an ideal kids' snack and is priced at [yen] 250 for 300 grams. The second product, Fast Food Potato, is a shoe string potato type snack which is ideal for young people. It is lightly salted, and priced at [yen] 280 for 400 gram. For a golden brown colour and very crispy texture, this snack can be grilled for 5 to 6 minutes in an oven toaster.
