Ken Kim's Korean mission: a native son returns to fulfill a unique winemaking quest

Article Abstract:

An insight into software engineer Ken Kim's return to his native South Korea to fulfill his unique winemaking urge by starting a winery where Catholic missionaries made wine centuries ago is presented. Kim's struggle to achieve his grand vision of introducing a new wine-drinking culture to Korea and his plans towards this goal are discussed.

David Lett planted Pinot Noir in Oregon in his efforts in producing the wine are discussed, which led to respect for him and his wine from Oregon pinot producers. Oregon Pinot producers acknowledge Lett and his wines with respect, but the most accomplished ones follow a different model.
