Prices falling after a decade of excess

Consumers are finally able to purchase good wines at reasonable prices after 10 years of price gouging. Reasons for this include a large supply combined with a waning demand and competition from such countries as Chile, Argentina and Australia.

The 1990 Burgundies are excellent, and prices are comparable to the quality. As a result, prices for 1986 and 1987 Burgundies are being marked down by retailers, and these wines represent some of the best buys on the market.
