The best of Bordeaux

Article Abstract:

An account is presented of the findings of a wine tasting event held in Munich, Germany, in 2000 which compared some of the great Bordeaux wines from the 1980-1990 period. Wines from 1982 were the overall winners, just beating those from 1989.

Two chateaus get big boost in prestigious Bordeaux district

Article Abstract:

Two St-Emilion houses, Beau-Sejour Becot and L'Angelus, were reclassified as premier grand cru classe, up from grand cru classe. The once-a-decade reclassification also resulted in four estates being added and eight being demoted.

Who's on top in St.-Emilion

Article Abstract:

Even greater changes should have been made in the recent St-Emilion reclassifications. Two houses have been upgraded to the top premiers grands crus classes, bringing number of top chateaus in the district to 13. Other changes that should have been made are discussed.
