Wineries sprout across America: Farmers and entrepreneurs established 460 new wineries in the past year

Article Abstract:

The number of wineries is increasing in the United States of America, with grapegrowing and wine production becoming profitable for family farmers. Farm winery acts offering financial incentives and direct-shipping laws passed by many states in the US enable the wine business to become economically attractive even for small wineries, resulting in a total of 4280 wineries in 50 states, which are 460 more than in 2005.
