When sexual harassment is a foreign affair

Article Abstract:

The issue of sexual harassment becomes even more complicated if it happens in global business situations. This occurs when perpetrators and victims come from different ethnic, racial or national-origin groups in companies that deploy employees to different countries. Because what is considered taboo in one culture may be totally acceptable in another, it becomes harder to resolve sexual harassment cases. To avoid this situation, companies should provide sufficient culture preparation for employees, This program avoids the possibility of cultural misunderstanding between men and women. Companies should also emphasize its position regarding sexual harassment to avoid confusion when cultures clash. Negative legal and business implications of international sexual harassment can be avoided if companies are sensitive to the issue of global sexual harassment.
