Machine suppliers: note differences with radiata

Article Abstract:

The New Zealand timber industry is exclusively devoted to plantation pine, originally from Monterey, CA, according to New Zealand Forest Industries Council chmn, C.A. Coyte. About 95% of this is radiata pine. New Zealand foresters support the conservation of native trees, only harvesting them on a sustainable basis. Equipment suppliers need to understand the different qualities of radiata pine, such as a much higher moisture content. New Zealand also has specific safety and pollution control requirements for timber machinery.
