Millwork industry faces opportunities, challenges

Article Abstract:

The millwork industry is prepared to face new challenges and opportunities presented by a changing marketplace. The industry is marked by varying priorities, issues and problems based on the products and markets that represent each segment of the industry. Industry changes, however, have largely been fueled by the price volatility of ponderosa pine as well as high cost. To cope with price pressures industrial manufacturers are requiring price guarantees which extend from six months to a year.
