'Best startup ever' keeps getting better

Article Abstract:

The Armstrong, B.C. division of Riverside Forest Products Ltd. serves as a model for new small-log lines in the limber industry, cultivating an equal amount of lumber from 9,500 blocks as the former line produced with 12,500 blocks. Because logs represent an increasing percentage of overall lumber processing costs, it is in the best interests of forest products companies to maximize wood processing with new technologies. Riverside uses innovative wood processing systems developed by manufacturers in Quebec, where the quality of wood is similar to that found in Armstrong.
