Pacific Rim wood trade gets more world attention
Article Abstract:
The 3rd annual Pacific Rim - World Wood Products Marketing Conference held in Vancouver, British Columbia, between Apr 27-29, 1997, offered a detailed analysis of the Pacific Rim region's economic importance in the international wood markets. Representatives from the Pacific Rim region discussed their countries' wood consumption and production along with forest products trade. Conference speakers also analyzed the Pacific Rim countries' economic potential as manufacturers of wood products.

Sensors boost accuracy at Norway board plant
Article Abstract:
Yields are being increased and accuracy improved at the Swanboard AB hardboard plant in Larvik, Norway, through the use of a new laser system from Selcom Inc. Optical laser triangulation is the measurement principle upon which the system operates. Positioning, centering, and on-line dimensional control and inspection are some of the other applications of the system that Swanboard has found useful.

Wood cement board offers wide range of applications
Article Abstract:
Wood wool cement board (WWCB) is used for various construction projects due to its versatility. WWCB is mainly used for roofing and ceiling insulation. These products are known for a number of characteristics, including their ability to resist rot, termites and fire. The use of cement bonded particle board for structural construction is also discussed.
