Proving wood's Green credentials

Article Abstract:

The reduced supply of timber from federal lands has resulted in large price increases for framing lumber and structural wood panels. The steel industry has responded by marketing steel studs, which are not as environmentally sound as lumber. Wood marketers should pursue green marketing strategies to court consumers who claim that they will pay more for environmentally sound products. Third-party certification of wood products is one green marketing step.
