The wood component industry is adding new dimensions to its image by offering value-added wood products to a great variety of industrial markets. Rough dimension manufacturers have specialized in the manufacture of wood products such as laminated and solid squares, furniture parts and edge-glued panels. Traditional sawmills are manufacturing more cut-to-size dimension products. Wood component manufacturers are serving the needs of various markets such as furniture, decorative/specialty, building products and industrial products.

Such explosions require the existence of five conditions: fuel, oxygen, an ignition source, confinement and suspension. The first steps in preventing dust explosions are preventing dust release and controlling dust accumulation. Dust-collection systems must be properly designed and buildings and equipment must be cleaned frequently.
