A Stalinist antibiotic alternative

Article Abstract:

Bacteriophages, pioneered in the early 1900's and marketed in the 1930s by Eli Lilly, may be the answer to antibiotic resistance. Research at the Institute of Bacteriology in Tiblisi, Russia, begun in 1934, had mapped 300 specific phage clones.
