'How do I regenerate enthusiasm for my job?'(Careers)

Article Abstract:

Advice is given to an internal auditor who has been employed by a company for 13 years and is feeling frustrated by his current job. The concerned person is an art and music lover who would rather be at concerts and museums than work at his office. A remedy to his dilemma is to simply seek full-time employment with organizations, such as museums, theaters or orchestras. Finding work at something one enjoys is a truly beneficial experience. However, if full-time employment is not feasible, moonlighting as an auditor for an art or music institution is a good idea. This allows the person to not only appreciate art and music but also get immersed in them through his services. This strategy also gives the person a sense that he is working for his own and not for an employer, resulting in a feeling of liberation. Finally, part-time employment serves as a guarantee that the person can have an employer to fall back on when he decides to leave his original company.
