Flag amendment introduced in Congress

Article Abstract:

Flag protection legislation has been proposed in the House and Senate. House Joint resolution 33 proposes to amend the Constitution to allow Congress to pass laws banning the physical desecration of the US flag. The Senate, meanwhile, will discuss a flag protection measure called Joint Resolution 14.

Americans mandate flag protection

Article Abstract:

The Citizens Flag Alliance reports that 25 out of 34 senators support anamendment to protect the American flag from acts of desecration and will push for the ratification of flag protection reforms in the 105th Congress. The proposal is supported by a majority of citizens.

Old Glory, young views: high school essayists rally to dave the U.S. flag from physical desecration

Article Abstract:

The Citizen's Flag Alliance sponsored an essay writing contest to generate support and awareness for the flag protection amendment of the Constitution. High school students expressed their opinions on the issue of flag desecration and freedom of speech.
