Article Abstract:

Asian barristers in the UK sometimes find that a potential client turns down the possibility of working with them simply on the basis of their race. Some clients seem to feel that they will have a better chance of winning their case if they are represented by a white barrister, preferably a man. In some cases, they are willing to use a white, male barrister who has little real experience of the particular circumstances of their claim. This view is sometimes even held by Asians, who prefer not to be represented by an Asian barrister.
