A stubborn digital divide

It is ironic to discover that whilst California is a world leader in technological innovation, school classrooms are suffering because of lack of access to technology. There is a digital divide between poor and rich, with those people who lack technological skills unable to participate in the New Economy.

In rural areas where access to medical care is difficult and expensive, telemedicine is becoming more common. Medical practitioners use interactive video consultations to communicate with, diagnose, and treat patients remotely.
