Capital income taxation and long-run growth: new perspectives

Article Abstract:

Researchers investigated the effects of capital income taxation on long-run growth within an endogenous growth framework having the two distinguishing characteristics of endogenous population and international capital mobility. They showed that taxes effect population and income growth in different countries in varying ways, depending on the international income tax regimes and the relative preference bias of people regarding the 'quantity' and 'quality' of their children.

Migration and pension with international capital mobility

Article Abstract:

Beneficiaries of a state's comprehensive welfare system, which includes old-age security, are mostly migrants for being relatively low earners. Thus, an opposition to migration may arise unanimously among the native-born population. However, with the pension system which has been given much attention for being an important pillar of the welfare state, migration is advantageous to all groups, regardless of income and age.

Comprehensive income taxation, investments in human and physical capital, and productivity

Article Abstract:

An analysis of relations which govern comprehensive income taxation, human and physical capital investment and economic productivity is presented. It is shown that a comprehensive income tax which is levied against both labor and capital income exhibits an impact on capital investment, which is greater for human capital than physical capital. In addition, economic productivity is discouraged.
