Citizen-Centric Government case study: City of Virginia Beach, VA

Article Abstract:

A prototype of the Citizen-Centric report, using Virginia City's information, and showing how tax dollars are being spent to provide services on a per capita basis, was prepared and presented to the Virginia Beach Finance Director. The information presented in the report was in an easy-to-read format, communicating what was going on in the city from a financial perspective and demonstrating an efficient way of putting the information together.

A model for Not-for-Profit Enterprise Risk Management: ERM at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond

Article Abstract:

The key elements of a not-for-profit Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) discipline and the implementation of the approach at one not-for-profit organization, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is described. It is found that each not-for-profit organization should execute an ERM approach to suit its business model, as its execution is not formulaic although it is a main part of efficient business practice.

The general manager of City of Falls Church government installed a new state-of-the-art communications network for categorizing, routing and tracking citizen requests for service and took a decision to outsource IT responsibilities. "CLASS" (the City of Falls Church Liaison and Suggestion Service) has given government employees the technological tools to serve citizens.
