International Cooperation in Space: How to Enhance the Results, Share the Risk

Article Abstract:

Since its inception in 1958 the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has been involved in international relationships because of the need for tracking stations and communications antennae. More recently, with the space shuttle, NASA has provided services to overseas companies and governments and has been involved in cooperative ventures. These cooperative ventures began with the establishment of NASA whose goals included the intent to share knowledge with the friendly world and have continued for reasons both financial and expertise related. NASA has proven that international cooperation is a profitable return on investment for all involved.

Four ages of modern man

Article Abstract:

A survey of international relations from World War I to early 1990s is the main focus of historian Eric Hobsbawm's book 'Age of Extremes: The Short Twentieth Century, 1914-1991.' While discussing the foreign relations of Europe, China, Latin America and Japan, Hobsbawm justifies Lenin's dictatorship in Russia. He further argues that the welfarist planning adopted by capitalist democracies was compelled by an apprehension of the spread of Communism. Though Soviet disintegration has undermined Communist ideology, it still exists as it is evident in the political ideology of the Chinese state.
