The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) has adopted a 'Managing for Results' approach for its operations to help assess the performance and achievements of its goals. The goals and achievements, accompanied by outcome measures, were fashioned in consultation with its constituent organizations, and the accomplishments would be communicated to its constituents, from time to time.

Enhancing government accountability through financial reporting

Article Abstract:

The potency of the management resources in the accomplishment of organizational goals is assessed by the financial statements for governmental and not-for-profit organizations. The governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) has set standards for the financial reporting to monitor the efficiency and responsibility of the financial programs of the government.
