The 1999 top systems integrators report

The list ranks the top 50 systems integrators in the US based on gross revenue in 1998. ADT Security Services Inc, Federal Systems Div of Alexandria, VA, is the top systems integrator in the US with 210.0 million gross revenue in 1998, followed by Plantation, FL-based Security Technologies Group Inc with 110.0 million gross revenue. Rounding the top three is Hamilton, OH-based Mosler Inc with 86.0 million gross revenues. The list also includes the number of systems completed; full-time employees; and branch offices.

School gets networked with Enterprise Class system

Huser Integrated Technologies of Portland, OR, is the provider of security services for the Salem-Keizer Public Schools located in Salem, OR. The company, which won the service contract in 1997, has recently upgraded the school's existing system to a MOMENTUM. The system, supplied by Hirsch Electronics of Irvine, CA, is an Enterprise Class system that uses Internet and corporate IT technology to lower installlation costs while improving the system's functionality, reliability and performance.

Security officers today differ from your grandfather's officers

Article Abstract:

Security officers today are required to have the skills to handle new technologies such as fire and burglar alarms, access control, closed-circuit television and monitoring systems. Security officers also have to be pro-active and be able to provide recommendations on various security issues. Demand for security officers is on the rise as more companies outsource their non-core operations.
