Is remaking the hospital making money?

Article Abstract:

Data from studies by the American Hospital Association has yet to determine that reengineering hospitals is a successful means to manage struggling facilities. The trend to reengineer has tapered off since 1995. Most hospitals have made insignificant changes in administrative structures. Eighty-one percent of hospitals have experienced employee downsizing. Statistics do not show whether reengineering helps shore up margins and stabilize finances.
