Does increasing the beer tax reduce marijuana consumption?

Article Abstract:

The consumption level of addictive substances, particularly marijuana, may be reduced by implementing federal policies aimed at increasing the price of alcoholic beverages. Statistics gathered from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth proved that increased alcohol consumption tends to create a corresponding increase in marijuana use. Such results provides concrete evidence for the contemporaneous relationship that exists between alcohol and marijuana.

Modeling risk using generalized linear models

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze a novel methodology of modeling the second portion of two-part models for predicting medical risk. The approach utilizes extensions of a generalized linear framework. It also supports demographic variables and an Ambulatory Care Group variable to accommodate prior health status. In addition, the methodology allows the formal evaluation of the choice of link and variance functions.
