Feeding more than mouths in Phoenix

Article Abstract:

John C. Lincoln Hospital and Health Center, business owners, and residents of Phoenix, AZ, have been working together to successfully revitalize their community, earning them a 1996 Nova Award. The hospital helped form a revitalization group that remodeled crumbling homes, aided by a federal grant of $150,000. Other groups opened school clinics, created programs to prevent youth gangs and school absences, and started a lunchtime program that brought young students and senior citizens together.
