Financial analysis of medical staff development plans

Article Abstract:

Hospitals invest much of their resources for medical staff. Thus, expected investment costs must be weighed against expected benefits to effectively evaluate any plans for medical staff development. A three-step process may be implemented to facilitate staff development evaluation. Initially, the impact of the plan on hospital utilization must be considered. The incremental financial impact of a successful plan implementation is considered next. Finally, financial support for such plans must be ensured.
