Strategic marketing for charitable organizations

Article Abstract:

Cause related marketing is a technique that allows corporations to enter into joint ventures with charities with specific goals. An example of this is the joint venture between American Express and the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Foundation which led to increased profits and donations. Spokesmen of 23 large charities were interviewed and revealed that, where applicable, the charities are quite interested in joint-venture cause-related marketing. Charities should identify their target market and potential impact as well as streamlining their decision making before seeking compatible partners.

The use of marketing strategy by pharmacists

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted of three types to pharmacies to determine what strategic marketing activities are being used and if their strategies correlated with type. Apothecaries sell only health related items while neighborhood pharmacies sell a limited line of other products in addition to their drug lines and medical apparatus. Department pharmacies are those which are part of a larger store. It was found that neighborhood pharmacies are the least likely to consider the use of strategic marketing techniques.
