The new Congress: what happens to health care reform?

Article Abstract:

The 103rd Congress has 12 new Senate members and 110 new members of the House of Representatives and is looking forward to solving a number of domestic problems including health care. The new Congress is a young, well-educated group of professionals who have worked in government for many years at the state and local levels. Democrats in Congress have a vested interest in seeing Pres Clinton's domestic agenda succeed and are willing to work closely with him on his health care reform initiative.

A new game ahead? Experts ponder prospect of congressional term limits

Article Abstract:

Voters' dissatisfaction with legislators is demonstrated by initiatives in fourteen states calling for term limits. The election of Pres Bill Clinton brings many new faces to Washington, but a great many incumbents remain. Some advocates of health care reform believe the legislative process may be slowed down by newcomers who must familiarize themselves with issues and protocols. On the other hand, others hope new leaders with fresh ideas may rival the entrenched old guard.
