A crisis of trust: for science, scientists or for institutions?

Article Abstract:

The outbreak of bovine spongiform encephalopathy in the UK is used to demonstrate the public's growing lack of faith in the government to provide adequate information regarding scientific findings, particularly findings which affect public health. The authors recommend transparency in research to re-establish trust within the citizenry for its government.

The nuclear receptor co-repressor Nrip1 (RIP140) is essential for female fertility

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that suppression of nuclear receptor action, necessary for coordinating ovarian function with oocyte release, is dependent on the co-repressor nuclear-receptor-interacting protein 1 (Nrip1), formerly known as RIP140. Nrip1 prevents causes of infertility such as luteinized unruptured follicle syndrome.
