Article Abstract:

Consumer price indexes data for the past 30 years is used to analyze the dental fee costs, hikes, and relation of dental practice to overall health care system and general economy. Findings indicate that dental practice is in tune with changes in general economy. Other key findings relate to operating costs, production, and net income.

Nanotechnology involves assembling things atom by atom using machines so small they may be barely visible. The technology does not yet exist in 2000, but the Foresight Institute has offered a prize of $250,000 to the first person or group who designs a nanorobot and a nanocomputer.

Nanorobots could be used to administer anesthesia, repair teeth, renaturalize teeth, reposition teeth, and identify and destroy dangerous bacteria in the mouth. Most of these applications should be available by 2010 or 2020.
