A healthy head start: 5 low-calorie menus with 10 points or fewer are the perfect beginning to a happy New Year

Article Abstract:

A solid New Year's resolution is one that commits to a healthy, low-calorie diet. This is easy with five menus which are tasty but calories ranging from 437 to 522. These diets include chicken blue-cheese salad, maple-mustard pork roast, vegetable pasta, Italian beef-and-potato casserole, and glazed shrimp kabobs with cilantro rice and Hoisin snow peas and peppers. Recipes are provided.

Side dish recipes that use 5 ingredients or less are presented. Green bean casserole, carrots in honey-mustard sauce, cranberry-sweet potato skillet, Brussels sprouts gratin, loaded mashed potatoes, and cheesy spinach and mushrooms are included. All recipes are geared toward a lower-fat diet and include nutritional information.
