A nurse executive's nightmare: the rogue nurse

Article Abstract:

A nurse engaging in rogue behavior is the nursing executive's nightmare, and a variety of such behaviors are possible. One could be an impostor, pretending to be a licensed nurse. Substance abusers could divert drugs and medication. Sexual predators exist who take advantage of patients. Killers exist who may rationalize murder as ending pain. Case studies and suggestions are presented.
