Actinic keratosis: Early skin cancer

Article Abstract:

Actinic keratosis is skin conditions caused by exposure to ultraviolet rays, typically from the sun and appear as rough patches or crusts on the top layer of the skin. Several guidelines for the treatment of actinic keratosi s that include cryotherapy, creams or ointments, chemical peeling, scraping and photodynamic therapy are presented.

Basal cell carcinoma: A skin cancer with a high cure rate

Article Abstract:

Melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma are three of the common skin cancers. The risk factors, symptoms and treatment for the most common of these forms, the basal and squamous cell carcinoma, are discussed and advice is provided on how to avoid them.

Hot and cold treatments: Relieving aches and pains

Article Abstract:

Study reveals that heat should not be applied first to soothe sore, inflamed muscles. To relieve pain associated with sprains and strains, it is best to first apply cold for the first few days and then apply heat.
