Advances in Cutaneous Aesthetic Surgery. (Contempo)

Article Abstract:

Several medical and surgical treatments are available to help reverse the signs of skin aging. Retinoids and alpha hydroxy acids can be applied topically and are very effective for mild wrinkles and other mild changes. The use of lasers has revolutionized skin resurfacing, which was formerly done using chemical peels. Other treatments include botulinum toxin, bovine dermal collagen implants, collagen implants taken directly from the patient, injectable cross-linked hyaluronic acid, and liposuction.
