An advocate for care

Article Abstract:

Disability charity John Grooms' response to the problem of disabled patients receiving inadequate care due to varied reasons including poor equipment, staff shortages, and insufficiently trained nursing staff was to create a disability nurse specialist role and a dedicated facility at Colchester General Hospital. Chris Wiseman was inducted into that role since the project started in June 2003 and along with the help of link nurses on each ward he has changed the face of disability care at least in one center.
