Anesthesia facilitation of external cephalic version: A meta-analysis

Article Abstract:

A study was undertaken to review the medical literature to determine whether anesthesia facilitates external cephalic version maneuver (ECV) for breech presentations. Economic implications of a successful ECV are considerable with incorporation of elective cesarean delivery after the term breech study.

Risk of cesarean delivery in nulliparous women at greater than 41 week's gestational age with an unengged vertex

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine whether an unengaged vertex significantly increased the risk of cesarean delivery in nulliparous patients at 41 weeks or greater. It is concluded that such patients are 12.4 times more likely to be delivered by cesarean section than a patient with an engaged vertex.

Cesarean delivery after successful external cephalic version of breech presentation at term: a comparative study

Article Abstract:

A comparative study of the rate and indications of cesarean delivery after a successful external cephalic version is evaluated. It was observed that the rate of cesarean delivery for dystocia increased after a successful trial of external cephalic version in both nulliparous and multiparous women.
