Are separate treatment centres good for the NHS?

Article Abstract:

The US government announces a large expansion of treatment centres that play a huge part in cutting NHS waiting times. However, these treatment centres provide safe, fast pre-booked surgery and diagnostic tests for patients and focus on procedures that historically have had the highest waiting times for treatment in areas such as orthopaedics and ophthalmology.

UK not ready to set nurse:patient ratios

Article Abstract:

The study presented deals with the hesitation on the part of the UK government to fix nurse:patient ratios until all pertinent questions relating to the issue are examined. A few merits and demerits of the definite nurse:patient ratio system are listed.
