Birth outcomes after prenatal exposure to antidepressant medication

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on conjenital anomalities and neonatal complications caused by the use of antidepressants during pregnancy. The authors have demonstrated the prenatal use of antidepressants is associated with neonatal complications, conjenital abnormalities and low birth weight.

Evaluation of quantitative ultrasound tissue characterization of the cervix and cervical length in the prediction of premature delivery for patients with spontaneous preterm labor

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on uterine cervix tissue. The role of this tissue in predicting preterm delivery has been investigated, and the results demonstrate that quantitative ultrasound tissue characterization of the uterine cervix predicts premature delivery.

Prophylactic administration of progesterone by vaginal suppository to reduce the incidence of spontaneous preterm birth in women at increased risk: a randomized placebo-controlled double-blind study

Article Abstract:

The authors have investigated the role of prophylactic vaginal progesterone in decreasing premature birth rate in high-risk women. Results demonstrate that prophylactic vaginal progesterone reduces the uterine contranction risk.
