Cardiovascular genetics: are we there yet?

Article Abstract:

According to the World Health Organization, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in Europe, accounting for over 4 million deaths each year. Thus, definite ways are suggested through which morbidity and mortality due to cardio-vascular disease could be reduced by genetic counselling of at risk individuals in cardiovascular genetics clinics.
