Case 19-2005: A 17-year-old girl with respiratory distress and hemiparesis after surviving a tsunami

Article Abstract:

A case study of a seventeen-year old girl, a tsunami victim, who was found to have right-sided facial droop and flaccid paralysis of the right arm and leg is discussed. The case consists of four aspects such as the near-drowning episode in the tsunami, cavity pulmonary parenchymal disease, the left-sided pneumothorax and the findings in the pleural fluid.

Case 5-2004: a 57-year-old man with slurred speech and left hemiparesis

Article Abstract:

An infarct in the area of the right middle cerebral artery was detected in a 57-year-old right-handed man subjected to a sudden onset of slurred speech and left hemiperasis. The urgent evaluation and management of acute stroke and approaches to surgical intervention are reviewed.

Case 16-2006: A 72-year-old woman admitted to the emergency department because of a sudden change in mental status

Article Abstract:

A case study of a 72-year-old left-handed woman who was admitted to the emergency department due to a sudden change in mental status and left hemiparesis is presented. The anatomical diagnosis has found that the woman had suffered acute ischemic stroke.
