Soluble endoglin and other circulating antiangiogenic factors in preeclampsia

Article Abstract:

The role of alteration of circulating soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt1), an antiangio gene protein, and a placental growth factor (P1GF), a proangiogenic protein in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia in women is examined. The results suggest that rising circulating levels of soluble endoglin and ratios of sFlt1:P1GF herald the onset of preeclampsia.

Urinary placental growth factor and risk of preeclampsia

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to test whether urinary placental growth factor (PIGF), a proangiogenic protein, is reduced prior to onset of hypertension and proteinuria, and whether this reduction predicts preeclampsia. The results indicate that decreased urinary PIGF at mid gestation is strongly associated with subsequent early development of preeclamsia.

Circulatinng angiogenic factors and the risk of preeclampsia

Article Abstract:

The development of preeclampsia can be predicted through increased levels of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 and reduced levels of placental growth factor. A controlled study within the calcium for preeclampsia prevention trial which involved healthy nulliparous women was conducted.
