Caught in Columbia's crossfire

Article Abstract:

The medical staff and civilians struggle to remain outside the violence in Columbia's 'low-intensity conflict', where if they are found collaborated with any of the illegal armed factions, they would either be interrogated or killed as collaborators. A combination of obstacles related to the conflict and chronic problems with the medical system makes health care inaccessible for many patients and keeps them beyond the reach of doctors.
