Characteristics predictive of response to ovarian diathermy in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome

Article Abstract:

Ovarian diathermy may be effective in treating women with polycystic ovary syndrome, according to a study of 86 women. This technique uses a heated probe to destroy abnormal tissue. Fifty-seven of the women began menstruating again and 43 became pregnant. Women who were older, overweight or obese, or who had insulin resistance were less likely to benefit from the treatment.

Big infants in the neonatal intensive care unit

Article Abstract:

The study identified risk factors for prolonged neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) stay in macrosomic neonates. It concluded that prolonged stay in macrosomic neonates is related to fetal distress measures and less to factors related to prolonged labor.
