Article Abstract:

The health system of America was weakened due to underinvestment, though for two years there was large inflow of federal funds for public health to fortify federal, state, local and territorial public health defenses against bioterrorism and other public health emergencies. States have sought to cut public health funding and large scale bioterrorism attach would tax the public health infrastructure to its limit.

The nation's public health infrastructure is the first in line of defence in the event of a biological attack. But the long history of underfunding has left them underprepared, according to Shelley Hearne, executive director of Trust for America's Health, a Washington based organization.

Sizing up safety; know your company's injury rates

Article Abstract:

A review of calculating organization's fatal and nonfatal injury rates is presented. In this regard an approach that will be useful in collecting the appropriate data and analyzing it accordingly, is also discussed.
