Article Abstract:

Children's hospices continue to offer nurses uniquely rewarding working environments and autonomous roles in spite of their increasing regulation. For becoming a children's hospice nurse, the individual should be good at communicating and listening with a good sense of humor, must be trained and experienced in working with children and must have thorough knowledge and understanding of the rate and life-threatening conditions affecting sick children.

Derisory pay deal puts our profession at risk

Article Abstract:

The revision of the 2.5% raise in pay by the government that effectively reduces it to 1.9% is viewed as detrimental to the future of nursing profession. The below-inflation pay rise for nurses is due to lack of recognition of the hard work and challenges involved in the nursing profession.

Patricia Hewitt only has herself to blame for nurses' fury

Health secretary Patricia Hewitt responds to the crisis faced by most nurses in UK in the light of recent service cuts. She claimed that since Labour Party came to power in the UK, the number of nurses in the NHS has been steadily increasing.
