Domestic violence: clinical and personal perspectives

Article Abstract:

Health care providers can be effective help to abused women by learning to identify patients being abused and by volunteering their services to local women's shelters. Working with domestic abuse services can help providers gain understanding of the problems and risks women face in abusive relationships and increase their comfort level in aiding abused women and children. Providers should also familiarize themselves with their state laws regarding abuse reporting.
